  3. Permission is given to distribute this version of Easy Base
  4. on disk, BBs or CD provided that it is distributed in its
  5. packed form ie the files Pack1.prg, Install.exe, Install.ini
  6. and Readme.bat. The program may also be distributed with these
  7. files packed into a single archive. You are welcome to install
  8. Easy Base for your own evaluation but you may not distribute
  9. the unpacked system files.

  17. Easy Base is a complete rapid programming system for data
  18. management. Virtually every data management problem can be
  19. broken down into three areas. Creating disk files (referred to
  20. as "Forms" in Easy Base) in which to store data, creating
  21. procedures which manipulate that data and presenting those
  22. forms and procedures in a logical menu system for use.

  24. In Easy Base you create the forms in which to store data in a
  25. simple screen painting environment which not only designs the
  26. data file but at the same time provides a default entry
  27. screen for your data. As you place the "Fields" in which data
  28. is to be stored, you can use relational links (Lookups) to
  29. import data from other forms. Each field you create for data
  30. storage is also treated as a deriveable "Cell" similar to a
  31. spread sheet. You can make almost any calculation within fields.
  32. Apart from all the arithmetic and relational operators there 
  33. are over fifty functions including "if(Condition,True,False)" 
  34. which extends to a case function and supports And, Or, Xor, 
  35. Eqv and Imp. The requirement for a field to be filled can be
  36. free, mandatory or conditionaly mandatory. Cursor entry to a
  37. field can also be allowed, prevented or conditionally allowed.
  38. You can also provide your own custom error messages when out
  39. of range data is entered. There are field types for Text, 
  40. Formatted Text, Text Blocks(providing word wrap and spell
  41. checking), Integer, Fixed and Floating Point Numbers, Date,
  42. Time and Fixed Choice.

  44. Once you have data stored you need to be able to manipulate and
  45. report on it. Easy Base provides a combined transaction and
  46. reporting system (Procedure Generator). With the procedure 
  47. generator you can use the default screens you have designed or
  48. create custom screens in which to gather input either from the 
  49. keyboard or from relational lookups. You then instruct Easy 
  50. Base what to do with this information using a simple "Basic"
  51. like programming language. If your procedure is transactional
  52. you have commands to enter, modify or delete records in any
  53. number of forms. If your procedure is reporting then there are
  54. commands to group, order and list data in almost every 
  55. conceivable way.

  57. You now have all the "parts" required to create a useful data
  58. management system. All that remains is to tie your procedures
  59. to a menu system so that other people can use your application
  60. without having to know anything about Easy Base. Creating an
  61. end user menu system in Easy Base is as simple as filling in a
  62. form with the text you wish to display and the procedure or 
  63. form you wish to run. You give at least one of your menus a
  64. start up password. If you then restart Easy Base but sign on
  65. with that password instead of your developers password then you
  66. will be running your own custom designed program.

  71. believe how much easier you can do things in Easy Base.
